As any Chamber of Commerce, the Belgium – Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (“BLCC”) in Hong Kong goes through chapters in time, matching the evolution of the business environment and the community of members. Hong Kong is at the tail end of a highly impactful period; a new chapter is soon to start. To better suit the changed environment, the Board of Directors of the BLCC has decided to appoint a new General Manager.
The Board of Directors of the BLCC has nominated Ms Femke Debie as the General Manager of the Chamber. Ms Debie will start her position as of September 1st 2022 (subject to issuance of the working visa by the Hong Kong immigration department).
Ms Debie, a marketing & communication specialist, graduated from the universities of Ghent and Brussels in Belgium. She fluently speaks 3 languages and has 10 years’ experience in various marketing positions. She was Deputy General Manager of the BLCC in 2021 to early 2022.
The Board of Directors thanks the current GM Mr Heemskerk for his contribution during his 4 year tenure and more specifically for growing the number of members of the Chamber and laying the foundations for a structure connecting the various Belgian Chambers of Commerce in Asia. Mr Heemskerk leaves the BLCC in a sound financial position.
