Scaling new heights for Invest Hong Kong! 2025 Non-Hong Kong Parent Companies Survey and InvestHK Annual Results

We are thrilled to share some truly exciting news that underscores Hong Kong’s position as a global business hub. Last week, the Chief Executive Mr. John Lee announced the results of the 2025 Annual Survey of Companies in Hong Kong with Parent Companies Located Outside Hong Kong and the Startup Survey. The findings are nothing short of remarkable.

  • The number of business operations in Hong Kong with parent companies overseas or on the Chinese Mainland has soared to 11,070.
  • The number of startups in Hong Kong has surged to 5,221.

Both figures have reached unprecedented heights, setting new records and reflecting the vibrant business ecosystem that Hong Kong continues to foster. These achievements are a testament to the unique advantages we enjoy under the ‘one country, two systems’, solidifying our role as the premier two-way platform for overseas enterprises to access the Chinese Mainland market and for Chinese Mainland enterprises to go global.

InvestHK has also published their annual results today and the numbers are equally impressive:

  • Between 2023 and 2025, InvestHK assisted over 1,480 companies in setting up or expanding their operations in Hong Kong, attracting approximately HK$200 billion in first-year investment and creating over 21,700 jobs. These results not only surpassed our Policy Address targets but also demonstrate the resilience and attractiveness of Hong Kong’s business environment.
  • InvestHK has attracted and supported 213 family offices in establishing or expanding their presence in the city, exceeding the targets and contributing to the continued growth of the family office ecosystem.
  • The New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme has also gained strong momentum, receiving over 2,850 applications from March 2024 to December 2025, with an expected injection of over HK$85.5 billion into the Hong Kong’s economy.
