Anglo-Eastern’s Ammonia-Fueled Newcastlemax Bulker Design Receives AiP

Our corporate member Anglo-Eastern sends us some very interesting news.

ABS has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to an innovative ammonia-fueled Newcastlemax bulker design from Anglo-Eastern Technical Services (AETS).

Decarbonization is a global trend. More and more companies recognize & participate in this objective by replacing carbon with ammonia. Being forward-thinking and innovative, Anglo-Eastern developed a dual-fuel vessel design which uses deck-mounted IMO Type C tanks under the accommodation block on each side of the vessel, retrofitting to existing vessels and ammonia-fueled and ammonia-ready new-builds. It is a major step towards decarbonization.

Congratulations Anglo-Eastern! Keep up the good work to save our planet. So proud of it, now we have to find someone who wants to build it.
