Industrial Engineering & Product Development Coordinator – Outdoor Living Products
We are a Belgian company specialized in the design, development, and production of outdoor products, including parasols, pergolas, and outdoor living solutions.
We are currently looking for a highly technical profile (freelancer, consultant, engineering office, or full-time position) based in China or Hong Kong, ideally with an international mindset and Chinese industrial background, capable of acting as a bridge between our European designers/developers and Chinese factories.
Main Mission
The objective of this role is to ensure smooth technical communication, product industrialization, and efficient coordination between creative design concepts developed in Europe and the production realities in China.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical communication bridge between European designers and Chinese manufacturers
- Challenge and improve technical solutions proposed by factories
- Ensure new product developments can be realistically industrialized and mass-produced
- Support prototype development, testing, and production optimization
- Coordinate technical drawings, CAD files, engineering modifications, and production feedback
- Help factories move beyond standard solutions and support innovation implementation
- Monitor product quality, feasibility, assembly methods, and production consistency
- Participate in factory visits and technical meetings when required
Required Profile
- Strong industrial engineering and product development background
- Experience with mechanical systems, outdoor products, furniture, metal/aluminium structures, or consumer products
- Ability to understand both design vision and manufacturing constraints
- Fluent communication in English and Chinese
- Experience working with Chinese factories is essential
- International mindset and problem-solving attitude
- Knowledge of CAD/3D technical development is a plus
