Friend of the BLCC Dantes Leung from the Law Society of Hong Kong invites two of our BLCC members to attend the 2021 In-House Lawyers Training Programme, this year focusing on the risks of multilingual contracts.
Multilingual contracts are commonplace in Hong Kong where multinational companies are located and international businesses are conducted. With potential discrepancies in different language versions, it is important not to overlook or underestimate the risks inherently associated with multilingual contracts, especially for in-house lawyers who draft and review contracts on a daily basis.
With an aim to assist in-house lawyers in appreciating and avoiding multilingual risks, this webinar hosted by Oldham, Li & Nie will cover:
- risks in negotiating, drafting and interpreting multilingual contracts, and the mitigation
measures; - risks in briefing out to external legal advisers, and the mitigation measures; and
- issues in legal translation.
